Skin Rash

Expert assessment and diagnosis for persistent or unexplained skin rashes. A rash that appears out of nowhere, keeps coming back or refuses to clear can be frustrating and worrying. In many cases, the cause can be identified during your first appointment, while some conditions may require further investigations to confirm the diagnosis. An accurate assessment is the first step towards effective treatment. We’ll explain our findings clearly and discuss the most appropriate next steps based on your individual needs.

About

About Skin Rashes

Rashes are one of the most common reasons for seeing a dermatology specialist and can occur at any age. Causes include inflammatory skin conditions (like eczema and psoriasis), allergic or irritant reactions, infections and other dermatological conditions. Because so many look alike, an accurate assessment is the key to selecting the most appropriate treatment. Treating the wrong condition may delay recovery and, in some cases, make symptoms worse.

FAQs

Skin Rash FAQs

Rashes have many possible causes — inflammatory conditions, allergies, irritants, infections and more. Examination usually narrows it down quickly.

Only if your history and examination point that way. If patch testing or other investigations would genuinely help, we’ll explain why.

Most skin rashes can be diagnosed from your medical history and examination alone. Occasionally, a small skin biopsy or other investigations may be recommended if this is necessary to confirm the diagnosis or guide treatment. If so, we’ll explain the reasons and discuss your options.

It depends on the cause. Some rashes settle with the right skincare alone; others need prescription treatment. Either way, you’ll leave with a clear plan.
